Once again virtually all the numbers have moved downwards from a week ago, unfortunately also the number of people who had been vaccinated this past week, which should have moved upward. Only four of the nine provinces are still in their fifth wave.

This is a blog where I would like to share some of my ideas about contemporary mission. I have more than 38 years experience as a full-time missionary in Swaziland, have done a PhD on the theology of mission – specifically on the relationship between mission and eschatology – and am presently specialising in the problem of HIV/AIDS and how the church should approach this problem. Since 2020 I have also developed an interest in COVID-19, specifically in the touch points between people’s response to AIDS and COVID-19, as well as keeping an eye on how the virus and subsequent mortalities develop around the world.
